Yet another Beatles documentary is coming to Disney+

The Beatles Never Stop: New Documentary Unearths Unseen Footage From 1964!

Hold onto your hats, Beatles fans! A new documentary is dropping on Disney+ on November 29th, and it promises to show us a side of the Fab Four we’ve never seen before. “Beatles ’64”, produced by the legendary Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi, focuses on the band’s explosive arrival in America in 1964, the year Beatlemania truly took hold.

You might be thinking, “How can there be anything new to see after all these years?” Well, it turns out even the most documented band in history still has some surprises up its sleeve. This documentary features rare footage from pioneering filmmakers Albert and David Maysles, capturing intimate behind-the-scenes moments and the sheer spectacle of their early concerts. We’re talking their first US concert at the Washington, D.C. Coliseum and their iconic appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” all remastered with cutting-edge audio technology.

This isn’t just a concert film, though. “Beatles ’64” promises to explore the camaraderie between John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they navigated unprecedented fame. The surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with Olivia Harrison and Sean Ono Lennon, are producers on the film. They even sat down for new interviews, sharing their perspectives on this pivotal moment in music history. Fans who experienced Beatlemania firsthand also chime in, adding a personal touch to the story.

“Beatles ’64” arrives on the heels of other recent Beatles projects that have mined the archives for fresh material. Peter Jackson’s “The Beatles: Get Back” offered a fly-on-the-wall look at the making of their “Let It Be” album, while Ron Howard’s “The Beatles: Eight Days A Week” covered their early touring years. Clearly, the world’s appetite for all things Beatles is as strong as ever. And with the 60th anniversary of their US arrival approaching, what better way to celebrate than with a brand-new documentary?
