Jeff Goldblum enjoyed trying to make Jurassic Park sequels good

Jeff Goldblum Says “See Ya Later” to the Jurassic Park Franchise?

Hold onto your butts, folks! It looks like Jeff Goldblum, our favorite chaos theorist Dr. Ian Malcolm, might be hanging up his leather jacket and leaving the Jurassic Park franchise behind. In a recent interview, Goldblum hinted that his character might have “ridden off into the sunset.” After four movies, including the original masterpiece, it seems like Goldblum’s time dodging dinosaurs might be over.

But fear not, Jurassic Park fans! The franchise isn’t going extinct just yet. A new movie titled “Jurassic Park Rebirth” is roaring into theaters in July 2025 with Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali leading the pack. Gareth Edwards is directing, and the original screenwriter, David Koepp, is back in the saddle. Goldblum seems optimistic about this new direction, excited to see what his “friend” Scarlett Johansson and newcomer Jonathan Bailey from “Wicked” will bring to the franchise.

While Goldblum might not be chomping at the bit to return, he did reflect positively on his experience working with Sam Neill and Laura Dern in “Jurassic World Dominion.” He focused on making their part of the movie a success, striving to fulfill their “part of the bargain.” He enjoyed the process and “trying to make it good,” but ultimately, acknowledges that everyone has their own opinion on the film. Goldblum wisely points out, “It’s tough to make a good movie.” Especially when you’re dealing with resurrected dinosaurs, I guess.
