Your iPhone Battery: Easier to Remove Than a Bad President From Office? Maybe Next Year.
So, Apple’s doing this thing where they’re making it easier to replace the batteries in iPhones, right? Apparently, they figured out some fancy adhesive that you can loosen with a little zap of electricity. Sounds like they hired a bunch of former electricians from the Death Star trash compactor.
But here’s the catch: it’s only for the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. If you shelled out the big bucks for the Pro models, you’re stuck with the old pull-tab method, which is about as much fun as trying to floss with a shoelace..
But don’t worry, Pro users! Some “expert” out there – and I use that term loosely – claims that Apple’s going to bring the fancy electrical removal to all four iPhone 17 models next year. Including the Pro Max, which probably has a battery the size of a toaster oven.
Now, this “expert” has been right sometimes and wrong other times. He’s like a weatherman, but for iPhones instead of rain. So, we’ll have to wait and see.
But hey, if it means we can all swap our phone batteries easier than we can swap out a cable news anchor, I’m all for it.
