Hilary Swank joins Yellowjackets and more casting news this week

Hilary Swank Joins the “Yellowjackets” Cast!

Big news for fans of Showtime’s hit show “Yellowjackets”! Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has been cast in the upcoming third season. She’ll be joining the show as a recurring guest star, with the possibility of becoming a series regular if the show gets renewed for a fourth season (which, let’s be real, it probably will).

We don’t know who Swank will be playing yet, but given the show’s structure, it’s possible she’ll be the older version of one of the soccer players stranded in the wilderness back in 1996.

Swank is a fantastic addition to the already amazing adult cast of “Yellowjackets”, which includes Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Lauren Ambrose, and Simone Kessell.

This is a great opportunity for Swank, who has had some trouble finding her footing in the TV world after taking a break from Hollywood. Her previous TV projects, Netflix’s “Away” and ABC’s, “Alaska Daily”, were both canceled relatively quickly. Hopefully, “Yellowjackets” will provide a more successful platform for her talents.

In other casting news, DC has found its new Green Lantern in Kyle Chandler. They are also looking at Aaron Pierre (“Rebel Ridge”) or Stephan James (“If Beale Street Could Talk”) to play John Stewart alongside Chandler.

Netflix is also making moves, adding Mike Faist and Christopher Abbott to its “East of Eden” limited series. Additionally, Emerald Fennell has cast Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in her adaptation of “Wuthering Heights”.

Here are some other casting highlights from the week:

  • • Michelle Pfeiffer will star alongside Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” for Apple TV+.
