Apple’s Vision Pro: Beta Testing Frenzy or Bug Squashing Bonanza?
Apple’s at it again, folks! Just days after dropping the fifth beta for their fancy new Vision Pro operating system (visionOS 2.1), they’ve gone ahead and unleashed the sixth. Apparently, they’re really in a rush to get this thing out the door. Now, they haven’t said exactly what’s new in this beta, but it’s probably more of a bug-squashing mission than a feature-fest.
So, who does this affect? Well, anyone brave enough to strap a $3,500 computer to their face and call it a headset. That’s right, the developers are the guinea pigs here, trying to find all the kinks before the rest of us get our hands (or rather, faces) on it.
The word on the street is that visionOS 2.1 is supposed to launch alongside the next versions of the iPhone and Mac operating systems (iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1) at the end of October. So, maybe Apple’s trying to get everything lined up for a big software extravaganza. Or maybe they just don’t want their shiny new toy to be buggy as heck. Either way, it’s clear that they’re not taking any chances with this one. They’re throwing everything they’ve got at it, hoping to make a big splash in the mixed-reality market.
