Your iPhone 16 Touchscreen Acting Up? Apple to the Rescue (Maybe)!
Hold onto your horses, folks, because it seems our friends at Apple may have shipped out iOS 18 with a few… hiccups. We’re talking touchscreen troubles, camera conundrums, and Messages madness. If you’ve got an iPhone 16, particularly the Pro, chances are your touchscreen has been playing a game of “I feel like working, I feel like not working.” Not great when you just dropped a cool grand on a new device, am I right?
But fear not, Apple has heard your cries of frustration and is rolling out iOS 18.0.1 and iPadOS 18.0.1, promising “important bug fixes and security updates.” They are specifically targeting the touchscreen issues that have been plaguing iPhone 16 users. Don’t get too excited though, they also mention a potential performance hit due to memory allocation problems on some iPhone models. Classic Apple, one step forward, two steps back.
Oh, and they are throwing in fixes for a camera freeze when shooting macro video in 4K and a Messages app that likes to quit unexpectedly when replying to messages with a shared Apple Watch face. Because who needs reliable communication when you have a fancy watch face, right?
So, if you’ve been tearing your hair out dealing with these bugs, head on over to Settings > General > Software Update and get your download on. Just maybe cross your fingers that this update doesn’t introduce a whole new set of problems. It’s the Apple way, folks.
